1Hempel (China) Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of the world-leading paint supplier Hempel Group in China. The company is headquartered in Shanghai and has three factories (Guangzhou, Kunshan, Yantai) and 11 inventory points in China. The broad geographical coverage enables the company to deliver on time within a short period.

Hempel (China) Co., Ltd. was formerly a joint venture established in 1992 between Hempel Group and China Merchants International Co., Ltd. In fact, Hempel had already been active in the Chinese market since the mid-1950s, providing coatings for ocean-going vessels, laying a solid foundation for future development. In January 2009, after Hempel Group acquired the shares of Hempel (China) Co., Ltd. held by China Merchants International, it became the sole shareholder of the company and renamed it Hempel (China) Co., Ltd. In June 2013, it was renamed Hempel Coatings (China) Co., Ltd. On December 8, 2020, Hempel upgraded its Asia-Pacific management headquarters to an investment headquarters company - Hempel North Asia Investment Co., Ltd. Through this investment headquarters, Hempel will increase resource allocation in global supply chains, market development, and R&D, which is beneficial for Hempel to maintain a leading position in technological innovation and customer service, ultimately bringing real value to customers.
