The organizer of the World Sailing Championship has signed an agreement with the global paint supplier Hempel, confirming that Hempel will be the title sponsor of the World Sailing Championship to be held in Aarhus, Denmark from July to August 2018. The official name of this grand event is"2018 Hempel Aarhus World Sailing Championship."
The championship is held every four years and is the largest sailing event in the world, as well as the main qualifying event for the Olympic sailing competition.
"2018 Hempel Aarhus World Sailing Championship"It is expected that more than 1,500 competitors from over 100 countries will participate, and it will also attract more than 400,000 spectators to watch the event live. Therefore, the scale of this event will be more than three times that of the sailing competition at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics. The purpose of the event is to bridge the gap between the competitors at sea and the spectators on land, conveying people's passion for sailing and making the sport more accessible than ever.
Aarhus Mayor Mr. Jacob Bundsgaard met with Hempel Group President and CEO Mr. Henrik Andersen to sign the official title sponsorship agreement.
Aarhus Mayor and Chairman of the 2018 Championship Executive Committee Mr. Jacob Bundsgaard expressed great satisfaction with the signing of this title sponsorship agreement. This agreement clearly reflects the international perspective of the World Sailing Championship.

2018海虹老人丹麦奥胡斯世界帆船锦标赛概览：
将包含奥帆赛全部10个级别的帆船项目比赛，并将首次加入风筝冲浪赛。
将是一场别开生面、规模宏大的盛会，让帆船运动更加普及、更加亲民。
参赛选手人数将比2016夏季奥运会帆船赛选手人数多出三倍以上。
将是2020东京奥运会的首场大型资格赛。
来自100多个国家约1500名选手将参加此次盛会。
预计将吸引40万名观众前往奥胡斯市。
同步举办一场大型节庆活动，将让前来观赛的家庭体验航海的乐趣。
赛事举办时间：2018年7月30日至8月12日。
主办方包括丹麦帆船协会 (The Danish Sailing Association) 、奥胡斯帆船协会(Sailing Aarhus) 、奥胡斯市政府以及丹麦体育赛事局 (Sport Event Denmark)。
