Hempel has launched a highly efficient all-purpose anti-fouling paint.

The globally renowned paint supplier Hempel launched Globic 7000 on June 4. This is a brand new anti-fouling paint that enhances operational flexibility for all types of vessels, reducing speed loss to *4.5% (based on ISO 19030 standards), significantly lowering fuel costs and reducing related emissions for shipowners and operators.
Globic 7000 features a unique design that provides effective protection for up to 60 months, incorporating optimal biocides that can simultaneously resist hard-shelled marine organisms and fouling plants (such as algae), and has stronger defenses against mud and algae, making it suitable for various operational modes such as slow steaming and long-term idle.
Globic 7000 is based on Hempel's reliable Globic technology. Since its introduction in 2002, this technology has been applied to over 10,000 vessels, ensuring the uniform and effective release of biocides throughout the dry-docking interval and keeping the hull clean.

Hempel's patented nano-acrylate is the powerful technological support behind the Globic series, achieving excellent polishing control mechanisms that allow for the uniform release of the full set of biocides to the surface, ensuring that the vessel remains clean throughout its service life.
The unique technology of Globic allows the coating to provide full anti-fouling protection as soon as the vessel is launched.
The Globic 7000 product also incorporates Hempel's patented microfiber technology, giving the coating first-class mechanical strength. The microfiber enhances the coating's defense against common wear and impact during daily operations, preventing the coating from cracking or peeling. After reinforcement, the sandblasting area is minimized, significantly reducing maintenance costs during dry-docking.
* This performance is quantified by the speed loss rate (ISO 19030), which is the percentage obtained by dividing the difference between speed and reference speed by the reference speed.
The greater the speed loss rate, the more power the vessel requires to move through the water, thus increasing fuel consumption.
